FAQ
WHAT IS THIS?
A roast board for software products. You pay real money to put a roast on a company (minimum $1). Targets are ranked by their roast pot — the total everyone has paid to roast them. The bigger the pot, the higher the fight on the card. Roasts are jokes and opinions about products, submitted by people on the internet.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
To us. All of it. Nothing is escrowed, nothing is shared with targets, nothing is donated unless we feel like it. This is a joke that costs real money, and the money is the business model. Every payment is final.
CAN A COMPANY PAY TO REMOVE A ROAST?
No. Nothing on the board is ever deleted for payment. What a target can buy is a clap-back: match the current pot and your reply gets pinned above every roast, with a SURVIVED 🔥 badge. The roasts stay up. It’s a right of reply, not an eraser.
WHAT IS “BACK UNDER FIRE”?
Surviving isn’t forever. If the roast pot later climbs past 2x the amount you survived at, the badge flips to BACK UNDER FIRE 🚨 and surviving round two means matching the new, bigger pot. Every survival is kept in the record.
THE POT GREW WHILE I WAS PAYING MY CLAP-BACK. WHAT NOW?
Someone roasted them while you were typing your card number. Happens. Your survival still counts at the amount you paid — but if the pot has already blown past 2x that amount, you may find yourself instantly back under fire. This is funny, correct, and non-refundable.
REFUNDS?
No. The button said “no refunds, this is a joke that costs real money” and it meant both halves. Payments are processed by our merchant of record; a completed payment puts your entry on the board and that’s the product, delivered in full. The fine print — payment errors, statutory rights, and how to ask — lives in the refund policy.
THE RULES (THE REFEREE’S CARD)
- Products only. Targets must be products, companies, or commercial websites. Never a person, a personal site, or a social profile. Government, schools, hospitals, religious organizations, and nonprofits are off the card.
- Roast the product, not the humans. Pricing, UX, marketing, bloat — fair game. Founders, employees, users — off limits.
- No slurs, no hate, no doxxing, no threats, no sexual content.
- No accusations of crimes or fraud stated as fact. Comedy, not courtroom filings.
- Every submission passes an AI referee before you can pay. If it bounces, rewrite it.
- The referee can hide anything at sole discretion. Hidden content shows “removed by the referee”, the money stays in the pot, and nothing is deleted. Moderation decisions are not refunds.
I’M FROM A COMPANY ON THE BOARD AND I’M NOT LAUGHING
First: the fun answer is to clap back — it’s cheaper than a lawyer and funnier too. Second: if something on your card genuinely crosses our rules, email hello@roastit.lol and the referee will look fast. We hide rule-breaking content freely. The money stays; the drama is optional.
WHO WROTE THE 🤖 ROASTS?
An AI, openly. Roasts written with our “let the AI cook” button carry the robot tag. A human still chose it, paid for it, and owns the consequences.
